Civil Engineering Department of Greater Noida Institute of Technology has organized a one day workshop on “Recent Advancement in Civil Engineering” for all Civil Engineering students. Mr. Anil Kumar Chadha (Senior consultant, Freelance Construction Project Management) delivered an expert lecture focusing on recent trend in Civil Engineering specially emphasize on infrastructure development sector. The lecture of Mr. Anil Kumar Chadha was focused on various salient features like material specifications; structural drawing and dimensions during construction process. The all students of Civil Engineering department were motivated by Mr. Anil Kumar Chadha’s speech. Under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director GNIOT Engg. the following technical aspects associated with Civil Engineering were highlighted during this workshop:
• Building information modeling for large scale application.
• Virtual reality (VR) initially science friction.
• Augmented reality Health and safety warnings, productivity, statistics, design specifications making field easy.
• Demand for sustainable design: Futuristic ready.
• Drones in surveying.
• Advanced building materials, self healing concrete, advanced steel.
• IOT and 3D Printings
The students were communicated for various job opportunities in Civil Engineering field not only in India but at Global level also. The way in which Mr. Anil Kumar Chadha explained the various aspects linked to Civil Engineering was exemplary. On this auspicious moment, Dr. Anuranjan Mesra, Dean Academic, GNIT Group of Institution, addressed the department. During his speech he told that the Civil Engineering stream is the mother of all engineering streams. Dr. Ranjan Kumar, Head of Department, Civil Engineering, Dr. R.N. Sharma, Head of Department, Electrical Engineering, Dr. Tarun Kumar, Senior Professor, Civil Engineering Department, and the other faculties of Civil Engineering department namely as Mrs. Vashwati Ghosh, Mr. Shashikant Shukla, Mr. Vikas Nagar, Mr. Anubhav Maurya, Mr. Deepak Pal, Mr. Subhash Patel, Mr. Anupam Sharma, Mr. Chirag Sharma, Mr. Manish Singh, and Mr. Shubham Singh also played a concrete role at this occasion.
