Workshop on Intellectual Property Right and IP Management for startup

The question today is not whether you have Intellectual Property; it is whether you know how to use your Intellectual Property!

World Intellectual Property Day is observed on April 26th every year to raise awareness about the role of intellectual property (IP) in promoting innovation and creativity. This day was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to celebrate the contribution of intellectual property rights to the development of society and to encourage innovation and creativity.

GNIOT MBA INSTITUTE had organized a Workshop on “Intellectual Property Right and IP Management for startup” under the umbrella of IIC today at MBA Institute. The resource persons for this workshop were Dr. Pramod Shrivastav and Prof. Praveen Rajpal. The resource persons talked in length about Intellectual property referring to it as creations of the mind, such as inventions, literary and artistic works, symbols, names, and designs, which are protected by laws and regulations. It also provides the creators with exclusive rights to use and commercialize their creations for a certain period, thereby encouraging innovation and creativity.

Prof. (Dr.) Anshul Sharma, Director (GNIOT MBA INSTITUTE) talked in length, giving impectus to the different terminologies involved like IPR, IPRS, Logo,Trade Secrets. He also talked on the contribution of start-up for a stronger economic India. Further he highlighted the importance of getting the ideas registered for better economic perspective.

The students (Harshika Verma and Aditya Raj Singh from MBA first year)also presented an informative power point presentation on the Theme. The Director Sir presented certificates to the students as a token of appreciation.
