Department of electronics and communication engineering, Greater Noida Institute of Technology, Greater Noida organized  one-day visit to Airport Authority India (AAI), New Delhi on 15th September 2022. Fourty-five students of B.Tech third year and 4th year from ECE department visited the company.
AAI is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in air space in the country. The main functions of AAI include construction, modification & management of passenger terminals, development & maintenance of apron infrastructure including runways, parallel taxiways, apron, etc., Provision of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance which includes the provision of DVOR / DME, ILS, ATC radars, visual aids, etc., provision of air traffic services, provision of passenger facilities and related amenities at its terminals thereby ensuring safe and secure operations of aircraft, passenger and cargo in the country. The students were visited L Band Radar Unit where Mr.Sanjeev tripathy (AGM)  & his team explained the management and control of airplanes both on-field and in-air by the ATC personnel. The students were excited to see live monitoring and broadcasting of the signals in connection to the airplane movement control. They got a chance to understand  about the working principal ofradar system, at what range we can detect the flight & How to check if flight hijack with the code given to the pilot.
The entire session was  very interactive session with an informative ambiance. The visit gave the student good exposure to how AAI Design, Develops, Operates, and Maintain international and domestic airports and civil enclaves and how it provides communication and navigation aids.
