GIPS has arranged a session on Tax Planning and Equity Awareness on January 10, 2022 in Seminar Hall Block-A at 11:00 am onwards. The primary objective of the workshop was to impart practical training to the students of special tax subjects and choice of entity, to reinforce the importance of ethical considerations, competent tax research and thoughtful tax planning.

This Workshop was planned and executed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Savita Mohan (Principal GIPS), who inaugurated the session and welcomed the resource person. She threw light upon the theme of the session and highlighted the importance of gaining practical knowledge regarding different aspects of taxation as it can help them a long way in their professional career.

Our admired resource persons were Mr. Aditya Pandey (Regional Product Manager at ICICI Securities) and Mr. Shubham Kamboj (Senior RM in SELECT department of ICICI Securities, Gurugram). As an expert in the field of taxation they provided practical knowledge to the students regarding various aspects of Direct Taxation such as filing of ITR-I, TDS and Advance Payment of Tax. Discussions were made on capital market, life & non-Life Insurance and asset management segment, portfolio management service, tax planning and management. They briefed to reinforce the importance of ethical considerations, competent tax research and thoughtful tax planning.

It was an interactive and fruitful session, more than 60 students from the department participated in the workshop. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Shyam Aggrawal (HOD, B.COM dept.)
