There are three words, combined and form MIS. Management is the administration of an organization. It is the combination of arts and science to manage the resources of an organization. Management refers to those people who are responsible for managing an organization. Information is the processed data and is presented in the form which is used for decision making. The most important element for a business is Information. To get proper information we need to clean data first to remove errors, outliers, and sources of unreliability. A system may be defined as the set of components that are joined together to achieve some given objective. Components are input, process, and output.

It is three-level in MIS which provide a platform of planning, directing, coordinating, communicating, monitoring, and decision making. The top-level is strategic planning. The middle level is tactical planning and the lower level is knowledge.
