Covid-19 and its Impact on Education System

Corona virus has affected the whole world today. More than 200 countries around the world have been affected by Covid and no doubt the economies of countries are affected badly. We are slowly moving towards a global recession. Due to this virus, in many countries there has been a situation of lockdown and curfew.

Industry, socio-economic sector as well as another important sector being badly affected by this virus is that of education. Each country with a huge and crowded population such as India, the situation is still very bad as most people are still positive and the Prime Minister of India, took many steps to save the country from this epidemic.

Be it primary, secondary or higher education, the studies of students is badly affected. Some big institutes like IITs, IIMs, Amity University and others have tried their best to support their students by using online education system but such institutes are few in number. All the professors in our Amity University interact with all their students daily through online apps and guide them.

Notes, assignments etc. are being made available to the students online as well as their parents are also being talked to so that the students do not face any kind of inconvenience. Some other government universities have also made necessary arrangements for online studies. This situation is worrying in a young country like India in which the number of students is so high. Its impact on higher education can be seen in almost every part.

Students who are currently in the final year of higher education, their placement was usually done at this time, they seem to be going into balance as both the institute and the company are closed due to the lockdown. More or less the same is the case with internship programs as well. Although some big institutes like IITs, IIMs and Amity have arranged internships for their students on their own. But a large number of students are also troubled by this situation. Many companies are also coming forward for internship of students, yet there is a need for large scale institutions to come forward so that students will complete their course as well as engage themselves in academic activities with confidence from practical exposure in this difficult time. Will keep you busy.

Another important topic is that the students, who used to live openly, participate freely with their classmates in various activities like sports etc. In such a situation, if this lock down increases further, then these students can come under mental stress, while excessive use of TV, laptop, mobile is also affecting their mental state.

Today the need is for the government, the organizations and students to come joint and make mutual efforts to solve the problems of students to find the substitute for examinations, online assignment, can be a best choice. Industries should come ahead and can help students to be free from stress by giving them placements, internships etc. It is also the responsibility of the parents to increase the morale of their children in this difficult time and inspire them to positivity.
