Placements after Engineering

Most often Students and aspirants of technology study think what the placement opportunities are, after they complete B.Tech. Degree. In Today’s world a degree is not guarantee of a job but acquired knowledge and understanding to deploy the knowledge can make you successful in job as well as entrepreneurial journey (if you opt for).  In following article, we will explore what are the possible career options after a B.Tech. Degree. 

Jobs:

After engineering most students want to pursue a job which is very safe and secure way of understanding implementation of engineering principals and engineering corelation with business functions. There is a good demand for qualified and hardworking engineering graduates in job market. IIT’s have their placement calendar almost full every year and Good reputed Colleges like GNIOT, Greater Noida have shown tremendous placement results even in turbulent times of pandemic. So, campus placements are a good way to land a job. Even if you didn’t get placed during your placement season or aspired for different companies other than visiting your college then you have option to attend off campus drives of your dream company/s. One should prepare well for the job market during their B.Tech. Degree program.  

Higher Studies:

After B.Tech. you also have option to go for higher studies (as after any graduation degree). One may choose to study deep knowledge about engineering subjects or can go into management (which is widely popular). All in all, higher studies give you a solid exposure to develop your employable skills and if you excel in learning those skills then there is a fare chance to grow faster after commencement of your career journey. 

Public Sector Jobs:

India is a growing nation, and we are growing at a very fast speed. Every aspect of this growth requires engineer’s support. That’s why every year Central government and state government bodies schedule exams each year for selecting eligible and interested engineers. These posts play very key role to India’s development and have very attractive perks and remuneration that’s why each year thousand of engineers appears for these exams. After completing B.Tech. Degree one can prepare for competitive exams to have bright career in public sector jobs. 

Entrepreneurship:

Nowadays student’s risk appetite has increased, and they want more from life thus Entrepreneurship is becoming a very common choice for people in general. Success of several engineers in entrepreneurial roles have fuelled the passion for starting something of their own in engineering graduates. Most Engineers who venture into path of entrepreneurship works in jobs for few years and then start working on their own product /service organisation. But few take entrepreneurial route immediately after completing their graduation. 
 
There can be multiple routes after engineering, but one must take decision only after keen observation of his /her own skill, temperament & interest.
