Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) is one of the premier institutions in the field of Technical and Management Education. It has been formed by Shri Ram Educational Trust, Noida established in 2000 on no profit basis with a firm determination and commitment to foster a holistic approach towards the development of engineering and management education. The college is affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The institute distinguishes itself from other colleges and institutes due to its holistic approach and unique foresighted planning to provide Technical and professional education with state-of-the-art techniques.

The FDP aims at equipping faculty members with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating project and research values among the students and guiding & monitoring their progress towards their career. Research skills are the backbone of academia and industry both and the excellent research skills can help the faculty members through their career. The possible research skills include the ability to gather the proper information about project or research topic, review that particular information analyze the outcome and make some critic decision to interpret the information to bring some solutions. The development of project based on effective research skills make us knowledgeable in respective field of interest.

The Central Project Research Committee (CPRC) of GNIOT is organizing a Five Days Faculty Development Program (FDP) which will use variety of pedagogical tools including Case Studies, Role Plays, Lectures, Demonstration and Practical training in laboratories, etc. The FDP on Use of Tools and Techniques in Research is designed to impart knowledge on tools and techniques used in empirical research, report writing, choosing an ideal research topic, abstract, thesis and research papers writing skills, selecting right journals for the produced research papers, detecting plagiarism and handling editorial decisions along with revising the manuscript in line with the suggested comments of peer referees.
